• Anonymous Usage: You can practice with GuitarGuru without an account. Cloud sync is completely optional.
• Zero Data Selling: We do NOT sell, rent, or monetize your personal information or practice logs to third parties or advertising networks.
• Right to Erasure: You can delete all your cloud-synced practice data and user account instantly via our User Data Removal Portal.
1. Introduction
Guitar Guru ("we", "us", or "our") is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application (the "App") and web services collect, utilize, store, and safeguard your information when you use our structured guitar lessons and practice platform.
By downloading, installing, or accessing Guitar Guru, you acknowledge and agree to the practices outlined in this policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the application.
2. Information We Collect
We limit data collection strictly to what is required to deliver music pedagogy, track user learning progression, and process voluntary premium subscriptions:
A. Account Registration & Authentication
If you choose to create a cloud account (via social login or email and password), we securely collect your email address, display name, unique account identifier, and authentication timestamps. You may also use the app anonymously in Guest Mode without submitting any personal credentials.
B. Learning Progress & Cloud Sync Data
For authenticated users, our synchronization engine saves your lesson unit completions, practice streak records, daily routine logs, and saved exercise bookmarks to secure cloud servers so you can access your learning progress across devices.
C. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
All subscription purchases (Monthly, Annual, and Lifetime passes) are processed directly by the official mobile application store platforms (such as the Apple App Store or Google Play Store). We never collect, process, or store your payment card numbers, billing addresses, or banking details.
D. Push Notification Services
With your explicit mobile device permission, an anonymous notification token is generated to send optional daily guitar practice reminders and streak recovery alerts. You can disable notifications at any time directly in your mobile operating system settings.
E. Diagnostic & Crash Analytics
To identify software bugs and stability issues, we collect non-identifiable technical crash diagnostics (such as device model, operating system version, and anonymous stack traces).
3. Local On-Device Storage
Guitar Guru is engineered with an offline-first mobile architecture. Lesson units, interactive practice exercises, technique drills, tuner calibration presets, and curriculum files are stored directly on your mobile device's local application storage.
This local storage operates completely offline without requiring internet connectivity. When you uninstall the mobile app from your device, all local lesson data and cached offline curriculum files are permanently erased by your mobile operating system.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To personalize your 40-week curriculum progression and calculate dynamic daily practice recommendations.
- To synchronize your completed lessons, practice streaks, and bookmarks across multiple mobile devices.
- To verify active subscription passes and entitlement status.
- To diagnose technical crashes and improve lesson playback performance.
- To deliver optional practice reminder notifications if enabled by you.
5. Service Providers & Data Processing
We work with industry-standard, privacy-compliant infrastructure providers to operate the platform:

When requested, your user account, cloud progress documents, streak data, and lesson records are purged immediately. Local data on your mobile device is deleted upon app uninstall.
7. Children's Privacy
Guitar Guru is designed for music learners of all ages. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that a minor has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately for prompt deletion.
8. Policy Revisions
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect modifications in our features or legal obligations. We will notify users of any substantial revisions by publishing the revised policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date".
