Effective Date: September 18, 2026 | Version 2.0
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Guitar Guru ("we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the Guitar Guru mobile application, website, and related digital educational services.
By downloading, accessing, or subscribing to Guitar Guru, you affirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must discontinue use immediately.
2. Educational License & Intellectual Property
Subject to these Terms, Guitar Guru grants you a non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the application for your personal, non-commercial music educational purposes on compatible iOS and Android devices.
• Proprietary Pedagogical Content: All lessons, exercises, audio recordings, visual fretboard representations, and the 40-week curriculum framework are proprietary intellectual property of Guitar Guru.
• Rhythm-Game Engine & C++ Audio Synth: The proprietary horizontal scrolling tab engine, synchronization algorithms, and C++ audio synthesis engine are protected under international copyright and software protection laws.
• User Tab Imports: If you import third-party Guitar Pro files (.gp3, .gp4, .gp5, .gpx) or ASCII tabs, you represent that you possess the necessary rights or educational fair-use permissions to practice those materials.
3. Subscriptions, Payments & Cancellations
Guitar Guru provides both free introductory access and optional premium subscription tiers (Monthly, Annual, and Lifetime Passes) processed through the official mobile application store platforms:
Monthly and Annual subscriptions will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours prior to the conclusion of the current billing cycle through your mobile app store account settings.
You may cancel your subscription at any time via your device's subscription manager. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the paid billing period. All refund requests are subject to the applicable mobile app store policies.
4. User Accounts & Anonymous Guest Mode
You may use the application in Anonymous Guest Mode with local on-device storage without registering an email. If you create a registered account (via social authentication or email and password), you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities occurring under your account.
You may migrate your local guest practice records to a permanent account at any time via the in-app account linking interface.
5. Acceptable Use and Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Decompile, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract source code from the mobile client, proprietary audio engine, or local curriculum database.
- Systematically scrape, mirror, or repackage our guitar curriculum or educational content for commercial redistribution.
- Bypass or circumvent subscription entitlement gates, feature flags, or security controls.
- Use the platform in any manner that interferes with server infrastructure or harms other learners.
6. Termination & User Data Deletion
You may terminate your relationship with Guitar Guru at any time. To permanently erase your synced data and account records, please use our dedicated User Data Removal Portal.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent purchase attempts.
7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The application and educational materials are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. While we strive to provide 100% offline uptime and low-latency audio performance, we do not warrant that operation will be uninterrupted or error-free across all mobile hardware combinations.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Guitar Guru and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the application.
